 
At present there are three locations in planning stage
regarding the development of golf grounds.
Dubrovnik region with its 25.000 hotel beds (30% of them
are in 4-5 stars hotels), a well known tourist destination,
a renewed international airport, a famous Summer Festival
(51st anniversary in 2000), clean water, a big marina for
sailing boats, a famous port of call for hundreds of cruising
ships, has a real potential to become a destination for
golf tourist and players.
1. In the northwest region of Dubrovnik, between Ston and
Slano, there is a location for minimum 2 grounds of 80.000
m2 each. It can be reached within 15 minutes to 1 hours
by car from Slano, Orebic, Korcula and Dubrovnik, or 2 hours
by car from Makarska Riviera. The ground is far from bigger
cities and traffic. 1 km from the ground there is a possibility
of bigger quantity for water supply.
2. North from Dubrovnik, nearby Bosanka and Mount Srd, there
are 120.000 m2 for development of more than one golf ground.
This is a prime location with a beautiful view on the Adriatic
coast and the islands and it is 15 minutes driving from
Hotel Excelsior, Hotel Argentina, the future Hotel Hilton
Imperial and the old town of Dubrovnik. There is enough
quantity of water and electricity nearby, as well as farms,
cable car, marina ....
3. South from Dubrovnik, nearby Cilipi (famous after its
Sunday's folklore shows in national costumes) there is a
location of about 60.000 m2 for development of one ground.
Other possibility is a ground around the restaurant Konavoski
Dvori in Gruda. The grounds are easy accessible from Hotel
Croatia, Hotel Albatros and they are in the vicinity of
Dubrovnik airport or 30 minutes driving from Dubrovnik City.
Dubrovnik with its very mild climate (in January the average
temperature is +100C or about 550F) is a perfect tourist
spot for golf development.
Dubrovnik is a prime place for golf development for its
location in Europe (Rome 40 minutes flying, Vienna 1.20
hours, Milano 1.20 hrs, Ljubljana 1 hours, Zagreb 40 minutes).
In the business plan for golf development one can count
minimum 10 pleasant months of playing golf in this region.
